An On-Line Novel: The Immoral -One of the Guys

One of the Guys

The girl’s words pricked Ronald to his very soul. How could she tell? It had to be impossible. He looked like any other fourteen-year-old guy. Rolling back his shoulders, he strutted toward her.

“What are you doing?” Cassandra grabbed his elbow from behind. “You don’t want to get caught and be suspended on your first day.”

Leanne glanced down her nose at his BFF.

Ronald watched a grin slink across the principal’s daughter's face. It twisted her angelic appearance. “Don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” He yanked his arm away from Cassandra and made his way to the picnic table. There, he bent to the left and peered up the girl’s skirt. White panties. They were no big deal. The undies resembled some his mom wore.

Cassandra huffed from behind.

He knew she was disappointed in him. But what she didn’t know was that he needed to keep a secret that she didn’t even know. He had to prove that he was just one of the guys.

Television: Toilet Bowl Morals

"Hey!" I hollered to my oldest. "You can't go to school dressed like that."

Fred glanced down at herself. "But J-Lo dresses like this." One white bra strap had slid down to the mid part of her upper left arm. The right one glowed like a neon sign against her black skinny strapped camisole.

"It's trashy."

"I'm only flaunting what my mama gave me." She shrugged and walked past me. "You should do the same. If I were a guy I'd tap that." She'd move her eyes below my waist.

Yup. I used to hear that from my then 17 year-old daughter back in 2002. Who talks to their mom like that? If I did, mine would have knocked me into a Salem Witch hunt right into a fire pit or a noose. That would have been the end of me.

Why are we indirectly telling them this is okay? The attitude? The clothes? The disrespect for us and themselves?

Unfortunately, our daughters today have the Kardashian girls to model themselves after. Two have had babies out of wedlock.  All of them are shallow, spoiled brats. They all dress and act like hoochie-mamas.

And their mom made them famous from Kim's sex tape!!!! What kind of mom does that?

Not that I was the perfect mom. BUT...

Then we have Hannah-Montana. Our daughters grew up with this wholesome Disney child. They watched her show. They bought her music and went to her concerts. Now she's twerking people and things.

Britney Spears was another Disney kid. She was once a Mouse-ka-teer. What's going on?

How about Katy Perry? The Preacher's  kid who admitted to selling her soul to the devil for fame. What is this telling our girls?

OMG! Then there's Keisha. I really think she came out of the Abyss. I'm not even sure she comes from human parents.

Here's something our daughters, our kids watch...

So is there a conspiracy to destroy our daughters inside out? It looks that way.

What do you all think?

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hugs and chocolate!

Would You Sell Your Soul For Fame?

"Are you willing to do anything to be famous?" a potential agent asked me. This was years ago when I was seeking a career in acting and modeling.

"Um," was my first reaction.

The guy waggled his brows at me, and then said, "I've got this one young gal who's making millions. We jump started her career by having her pose for Playboy."

My face went hot. "Oh." All I really wanted to do was act and entertain people, not pose naked for a wack mag. Not to mention, thoughts of my dad or step dad catching wind of this or accidentally picking one up ... well... that would have been humiliating.

That day my acting and modeling career went into the toilet. I just couldn't sell myself out. Morals and ethics mean something to me. And quite frankly, when I see someone on television like the Kardashion girls flash around their nonsense or Miley Cyrus twerking Alan Thicke ... I cringe. What are they thinking? Does money and being noticed mean that much?

I pretty much feel the same about the stories and novels I write. Which brings me to the topic of writing in sex scenes. I struggle.

In White Trash and Pill Heads, I've got two characters. They're a couple with some major issues and sex seems to be one of their outlets besides drugs and booze. Currently, there are some sex scenes written in. But I'm considering taking them out. You know, write it with an implication  of sex.

Why? It's that moral and ethics thing I go through. I know my dad will be reading it. So will his friends. So will my daughters. And so will the Big Guy in the Sky. And He sees everything.

How about any of you? Would you do anything to be famous or sell your books?
