Ding-Dong My Computer Died

Today, I wanted to talk about my book covers and their creators and whatnot. But I'm working on a Blogger App via my iPhone. So I'm somewhat limited as to what I can do.

Ding-Dong! My computer is dead. The internal drive slowly died and my battery pack can't revive it.

However, I've been writing on my Notepad App and utilizing pen and paper to keep Killer Stilettos going. Been critiquing and beta -reading for fellow authors this way, too. But I can't comment directly onto whatever format they send me. So I jot down notes and email them.

At first Sweetman said, "Cyber Monday is coming. We'll get you a new one." Well, it came and went. No computer was purchased.

Now he says, "After the New Year!" I have a face for this comment.

Oh well...I'll be patient. Besides, the Sweetman has been scheduled for another surgery. The doctors found polyps in his voice box. Patience is a good thing.

Anyone dealing with similar challenges?

Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly

  1. Yes, I'm dealing with quite a bit. The list I made yesterday was about 1/10 of what's going on...the rest is just too much for the average reader.
I'm sorry to hear about the polyps and surgery. I have vocal chord dysfunction.
Now as to the laptop - wow. I've been there. My youngest spilled a 16 oz glass of milk on my beloved mac. I suffered many months limping along and then during the Christmas ad season, The Engineer surprised me with this slick thing. Not a mac...alas...but it's a laptop, and it's tiny and fast. I'll take it!

  2. You don't have a word processing app on your phone? I do almost all of my writing on my phone and my Kindle. My computer's been on life support for a while now. I use it only if I absolutely have to.

  6. I'm sorry, Shelly! Tell him Santa had better bring one or else. You can't work on a cell phone forever.

  9. Good luck with the surgery.
My comp is so old it groans louder than the cat and she's about three hundred years old.
Going to have to put it down - the comp that is, not the cat.

  10. Sorry to hear about your computer problems, Shelly. My XP died a few months ago and I lost everything including the use of my Print Shop. Such is the life of technology. We can live with that.
I pray all goes well with the surgical procedure and the holidays become good memories!

  11. Sorry to hear about your computer problems, Shelly. I hope you can get a new one soon. I used to work from my laptop but the poor thing is old and falling to pieces. I was lucky my mother had to get rid of hers (compatibility problems. She had a mac, everyone in the office had the other kind). Now I got me a nice working machine.

My prayers are with you and your family. Hope the surgical procedure goes perfectly.

    1. Me, too. It's not real easy working from the iPhone. But I'm thankful that I have that and pens and tablets.

  13. Uh oh! Sorry to hear about the computer and polyps. Just think of those peeps in the Philippines and you'll feel better. Can't imagine losing as much as some of them have. ((hugs))

  14. I also hope that the surgery goes well. You've both been through so much. Good luck getting everything straightened out with your computer. Best Buy has some good holiday deals going, and I'm sure other places do too.
