Today, I'm keeping it short. Have the flu. It's not been fun. Let me tell you.
Anyway, I've posted a short video clip from the 1976 movie, Network. It's full of interesting rants. I thought this one helped my theme of how television puts a spell on us all.
I remember this movie well- a worthwhile movie, a disturbing movie. This clip reminds us that TV has been telling people what they want to hear for a looooooong time.
Peter Finch did a great job. When he got mad as hell he just jumped out a window. That is what I remember about the movie Network. It was great entertainment.
Thanks, Lorelei. What's strange about this one, had a high fever for 2 days with painful lymph nodes. Fever is gone but the nodes in the back of my neck still hurt.
Hoping you feel better very soon. I've got a little cold myself. My fourth this season! I am not too happy about it. Ah, the joys of winter in Chicago....
It has been awhile since I've seen that one.
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting movie, Sir Wills.
DeletePropaganda force - he called it.
ReplyDeleteYup. In which we are under today.
DeleteSorry to hear you're sick. Miserable stuff, the flu. I hope you get better quickly. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna.

Hi, Michael:
DeleteIt's definitely a virus. It's Thursday and I'm still ill. Hanging on the sofa until I have to get ready for work.
I've been sick for nearly a week too - and I'm so done with it. Hope you get to feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHere it is another week, and this stuff is still hanging on. Its really cramping my style.
DeleteHope you feel better.
I remember how controversial Network was when it first came out. Peter Finch gave a great performance! Hope you feel better, Shelly.
