America Will Get the President We Deserve

Lately, like everyone else, I've read and watched a lot of negative stuff on Obama, Hillary, Trump, etc. But as someone who believes in Yeshua, I need to stay away from this negativity. We all should, Christain or not.

I know in the past that I've dished out my own sarcasm and smart remarks. But I've decided to decline from doing this any longer. Really, it does no good. No one really cares to hear whining and complaining. Or maybe they do. It makes for a good fight and breaks up friendships.

Besides, since I believe in Yeshua/Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I am commanded to pray for them, I Timothy 2:1-4 First of all, then, I counsel that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all human beings, including kings and all in positions of prominence: so that we may leaf quiet and peaceful lives, being godly and upright in everything.

This is what God, our Deliverer, regards as good, this is what meets His approval.

He wants all humanity to be delivered and come to full knowledge of the truth.  (The Complete Jewish Bible)

And with the way things have been going in America, we need to get on our knees. From Flint, Michigan's water issues to shootouts(the most recent in Maryland), to race wars and candidates being attacked this doesn't seem to be America anymore. I can only imagine what is going on behind the spiritual veil.

What we see in the tangible world is the result of what's going on in the one we don't see. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There is a war going on so pray.

Quite frankly, there is NO ONE that I can trust to truly run this country right.

AND, there is not one candidate who holds my views on abortion, the 2nd Ammendment, Freedom of Speech and Religion, corporate greed, etc.

The ONLY ONE I can trust is Yaweh. He's in control. Not me. Not you. And not them.

Psalm 22:28 For the kingdom belongs to Adonai, and he rules the nations.

Psalm 47:9-10 God rules the nations, God sits on His Holy throne.

The leaders of the people gather together, the people of the God of Avraham, for the
rulers of the earth belong to God, who is exalted on high.

God is clearly in control. He already knows who will be President of the United States of America.

And I do beleive Ben Carson, no long ago was quoted as saying, "The American people will get the president they deserve." (I couldn't find it posted anywhere yet. But when I so, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will.)

Now that's a scary thought.

Hugs and chocolate, all,

A Fourth of July Quote

I hope everyone enjoys their holiday and their families. Also, please remember to pray and say 'thank you' to God. And also say 'thank you' to our men and women who were and are in service for this country.

Hugs and chocolate, all!

A Father's Day Quote

Father! — to God himself we cannot give a holier name. ~William Wordsworth.

I had planned a post with some family pictures. But my iPhone won't download my pictures into my computer. So I asked the Sweetman when I could download some data from my phone.

He says, "I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know?"

He shrugs.

"When does the billing cycle start and end?"

"I don't know."

"But you pay the bill."

"I still don't know."

 I say, "OY VEY!"

I figured I could put my blog post together via my iPhone. The way our account has been set up is more than annoying. The Sweetman gets unlimited everything while me, the writer, gets the limits. What a load! Right?

Hope everyone had a Happy Father's Day!

Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly

See you on Thursday.

Celebrate the Small the Things

"The Bible is a book of hypocracy."

"Well, the Bible was written by bigots."

"I hate it when people say 'praise the Lord' and 'thank you, Jesus'.

"I'd prefer if you wouldn't tell me 'God bless you'.

Today I celebrate the fact that we all can have an opinion ... even about the Bible and God. And we should all be thankful that God has mercy and hasn't struck anyone with lightning for saying such things. And I'm also thankful that I'm not God, I'm not so sure I would handle these comments so lightly.

Anyway, since I'm not God, and I sometimes take things a little personal, the following is what I have to say:

1. You should celebrate that the Judeo/Christian God doesn't allow His believers to have something called Shari-a-Law. I think those statements might find a lot of people dead EVERYDAY!

2. We should celebrate someone giving us God's blessing. It's way better than being told f$&@ you!  Or getting the finger.

3. We should also celebrate that the Torah or the Bible was inspired by God, and not man (we'd be in BIG trouble if man did write it). It was God who gave the commandment to 'Love thy neighbor, as thyself.'  That explains why people aren't being struck right or left by lightning. God is very forgiving.

In order to be loving, one must be just that ... FORGIVING!

4. With regard to these opening remarks, everyone should be thankful that Jews and Christians haven't gone postal on society.

5. To be honest with you, I used to think the same thing. But one day I picked up the Torah and began reading it in its entirety. Word for Word. Page by Page. Chapter by Chapter. And WOW!

I'm thankful that we STILL have the freedom to do this.

Yeah. I used the word STILL. America is shifting and not for the better.

The last several weeks, I've been studying the dickens out of the books of I and II Kings. And I can sum it up as this: A lot of kings didn't follow what God commanded, leading the people of Israel astray. They abandoned God, and in the last chapter of II Kings, God removed His presence from them. He abandoned them and they went into exile. Need I say more. Other than, God always heard their cries and would come back and rescue them. He did this over and over and over.

So be thankful and prayerful that we STILL have time to change our hearts and hopefully the direction America is going in. Now that's something to celebrate along with my feta stuffed zucchini and squash...

and my cream cheese stuffed jalapeƱos wrapped in grass fed bacon. Compliments of my container garden.

And that I get to post stuff like this and that you have the freedom to either agree or disagree with me.

And also that we can write whatever we want and make up stories ... all kinds of stories.

This was brought to you by VikLit's, Celebrate the Small Things.

Have a happy restful weekend. Happy Shabbats, if you practice!

Unfortunately, I'll be working and will do my best to read as many blogs as possible. I so enjoy reading a lot of your blogs.

Hugs and chocolate!
