A Thought

If we seek to survive outside of the will of God, we usually do it through selfish means.

What do you think?

  1. I think god has a lot to answer for. That's what I think.

    1. God gave us free will. Its about cause and effect. He left us in charge down here and gave us a rule book to go by. See my comments Lorelei and Gary.

      Hugs!

  2. God is sovereign and has nothing to explain. Living without God limits our design.

    1. What a lot of old rubbish. You may as well believe in the fairies.

  3. Hi Shelly,

If such things like earthquakes and tsunamis are god's will, why would anybody worship a mass murderer?

Sorry, Shelly, I'm even more convinced that our world would be better of with no religion of any description.

    Peace and hugs,

    Gary

    1. No problem, Gary. I know I believe God is in control. But a lot of the weather issues have a lot to do with what man has done to the eco-system. The earth is out of ballance because of what peeps have done.

    2. Also, I understand where your anger is coming from. I used to harbor the same for God. A lot of bad stuff happened to me years ago, and I blamed Him for every bit of it. But I no longer do. Everything that happens here on earth is all about cause and effect. Make a bad decision, you get a bad result. Be greedy, people will suffer. Pollute the earth and strip it of its resources, and you get a screwed up eco-system. Grow GMOs, people get cancer. Have different sex partners, you get a VD. So forth and so on.

I still know you to be cool even though you don't agree. Hugs and chocolate to you.

  4. Yes. And those selfish means make it all about us, our own survival, expecting our terms to be satisfied. In this, we are elevating ourselves above God.

Our little earthly notions don't get us anywhere. God always has a better plan.

We get to choose. We can keep trying to run things then blame God when they get mucked up or we can cooperate with He who truly provides for our greater good into eternity.

  5. I agree, and usually, doing so is not good for anyone involved.

  6. I've never understood the Christian idea of "God's will", or "God's plan", as my mother-in-law used to talk of. I don't follow Bible teachings. I'm not a Christian.
Here is one thought from Paramahansa Yogananda: "When you know God as peace within, then you will realize Him as peace existing in the universal harmony of all thins without."
    That really needs no explanation.

    1. Its all good. I never understood it either. That's why at one time I made up my own thing seeking what was true through many avenues. Wicca, Santeria, etc... In 2008, I converted to Judaism. Two years ago, after more issues with my daughter and grandson, I read the whole Torah through and them the Christian Bible through. Then, I pick up the books of Enoch, (which by the way I think you would find this particular book to your interest), Jasher and Jubilees.

Anyway, after reading this through several times, I got the point. Love God with all your heart, and your neighbor as yourself. If we all could do this, a lot of problems would be solved. No wars, no sickness, no GMOs, no hunger ... People would do things because they genuinely would care about each other and the earth God gave to them. And most of all, that Yeshua really did come to lay His life down for all. He is our example to live by. And this last one used to make my brains go bonkers. But I get it now. And it wasn't from anyone's pulpit.
